In this video we are experimenting with baking soda and citric acid to make our snow volcano erupt.
You can also do this snow volcano experiment outside.
In this experiment, soda (sodium hydrogen carbonate NaHCO3) reacts with acetic acid when water is added. The reaction produces carbon dioxide CO2 and water H2O. The carbon dioxide rushes to the top, but is trapped in soap bubbles. Therefore, thick soapy foam bursts out of the crater and begins to flow down the slope of the volcano.
