The main aim for the Covid-19 vaccines is to transport the genetic material of the Covid-19 virus inside the patient's cell. The genetic material is of two types, RNA and DNA.
Pfizer vaccine uses RNA genetic material of Covid-19 virus instead of DNA which is used by AstraZeneca. Once inside the cell, RNA of the Covid-19 virus replicates/multiplies the Covid-19 virus multiple times to produce multiple spike protein of Covid-19 virus.
These spike proteins when reaches the surface of the cell, activates the immune response to produce antibodies. These antibodies are responsible for providing immunity and defence against Covid-19 virus.
