In September 2016 HCL opened a software development laboratory in Rome when it entered into an IP partnership with IBM with its first product: Workload Automation. In 2018 the lab grew with the addition of the BigFix product portfolio becoming a center of excellence in Europe for Software Engineering, Product Design, Sales, Professional Services, and Innovative Solutions.
