Mascots are big in Japan. So it should be no surprise that the J.League has some fantastic mascots of its own.
In 1992, when the J.League was born, there were ten teams and ten mascots. Today there are 55 mascots representing teams across three divisions.
And now there's even a mascot general election to decide which of the J.League's mascots is the best!
This video charts the rise of the J.League mascots, there place in the wonderful world of Japanese mascots, and how they came to take over the Japanese game.
