On the 21st October 2019, abortion plans are to be legalised in Northern Ireland. For some it is a joyful, overdue, watershed moment; for others it is tragic and devastating news. It goes without saying that our society has become more and more polarised. From the rise of identity politics, to the advent of social media that has only created ‘echo chambers’, instead of opportunities for cordial discussion. This is a hugely sensitive and divisive topic. CMF does not pass any sort of judgment on those who have had an abortion in the past, nor any position you may hold around it.
