You don't run out of time.
You run out of energy.
Every day, you have a fixed budget of energy. Use it wisely.
How?
1. 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗧𝗼-𝗗𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁.
😇 When you tick items off this list, you feel a sense of accomplishment, which can fuel your completion of the rest of the list.
2. 1-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽-𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
If you're starting out, just keep doing one of your work for 1 hour without quitting.
💪 You may get distracted; be aware. But the moment you spot it, just come back.
I track my 1-hour sessions on a spreadsheet.
Right now, I complete 10 one-hour sessions on average per day.
3. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.
I note the time I get up from the work chair to track the time between work and not work.
🙈 This shows how your time gets robbed.
4. 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻- I am doing Pilates.
To me, this is one of my recharging times besides sleep and meals.
✍️ Physical exercise increases the neuron-muscle connection, which is a rate-limiting step of your FOCUS, overall health, and healthspan.
6. 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆.
🥱 I have been waking up at 3 a.m. since I realized I have the least momentum from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
7. 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺-𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴
I have migraine and IBS, and I constantly track my symptoms to
calculate the average interval time between episodes
so that I can predict the next episode.
💆 This allows me to schedule my work and get as much rest as needed during symptom episodes.
Also, I journal when I'm emotionally charged. This has helped me a lot to figure out how emotions constrain my mind and how to heal them.
🕚 When you feel like 24 hours is not enough,
⚡Remember, it's not about the time. It's all about energy.
Imagine being able to go to bed every day,
