Your muscles have to not only be strong but you also need control so you can slowly lower yourself down the stairs 💪🏽
Without the control- your knee joint will take more stress. This can lead to pain and difficulty down the stairs 👀
Going down sideways can reduce the stress to the knee as you’re working to build strength ☝🏽
