Quincy Smith is a senior guard for the University of Hawaii. With the Gib Arnold and Benji Taylor era in the rear view mirror, Smith looks to build on his strong junior year performance as co-captain of the team. The 6-1 point guard may have only averaged 4.5 points and 1.2 steals off the bench, but he provided instant spark and defense off the bench in what would be a fast tempo/run-and-gun type of system. After playing in the San Francisco Pro-Am league last summer, Smith returned to Manoa Gym to stay in shape for the upcoming season. Smith would average over fourteen points a game and was injured in what would be his final appearence. He scored 20 twice, and showed tremendous slashing and driving ability. While his ability as a shooter are subpar, Smith finds ways to contribute, and inspires a winning attitude that will be particularly important this upcoming season.
