Finance Minister Simon Birmingham is encouraging Australians to seek employment in the regions as the government’s wage subsidy program JobKeeper goes into its last month.
“We’ve got a $6,000 relocation allowance that is there and we do want people to see there are real job opportunities that exist,” Mr Birmingham told Sky News.
“Some in metro areas, some in regional areas.”
The government’s $90 billion JobKeeper program will end in March. It is yet to make an announcement regarding the future of the JobSeeker rate going forward.
