This is your USD News Minute.
USD named Sahmie S. Wytewa as the new Tribal Liaison for the university’s Center for Inclusion and Diversity. Sahmie is a member of the Hopi Tribe from the village of Misongnovi in Second Mesa, Arizona. Wytewa’s role will build on USD’s mission and vision to strengthen partnerships and programming in support of Native-Indigenous students and communities.
Mission Integration is inviting all students, faculty and staff to the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Thursday at 12:15 at the Immaculata. With Cardinal Robert McElroy as the presider, the Mass is an annual tradition, dating back more than 800 years, at Catholic colleges and universities like USD that marks the beginning of the academic year.
And, USD has developed a dashboard as a source of information to remain updated on the presence of COVID-19 in the wastewater emitted from USD campus buildings. The data for this dashboard will update based on wastewater samples collected and tested on a five-day weekly cycle. For more information, head to the Onward USD website.
As always thank you for watching. We'll see you next week.
