It was a great night for a wedding in Uptown Charlotte, as John and Sobrina celebrated becoming Mr. and Mrs. Ahrens with a crowd of fun-loving family and friends! Even though it was a little overcast outside, we were having a blast indoors, John must have known before hand, because after all he is a meteorologist on WSOC TV. (Check out John doing his thing here!)

I always love working at the Charlotte Marriott City Center! This venue is like "Cheers!" to me...where everyone knows my name and I know everyone's name, so I was very excited to have the chance to work there this Saturday, to see some familiar faces and make some new friends. Katrina and her entire staff were a pleasure to work with.

We started the evening off with a session of awesome introductions as the bridal party came through and owned the dance floor with signature moves, while Jesse kept the energy high and John and Sobrina's initials lit up the dance floor with their personal monogram!

John and Sobrina both have a taste for some of the old school classics, John loves Frank Sinatra and Sobrina is a big fan of Otis Redding and Billie Holiday, so we played a smooth mix of Sinatra, Billie, Dean-o and Otis for dinner as everyone enjoyed their delicious entrees!

This was a fantastic evening of love and dancing! Both John and Sobrina gave two of the most heartfelt speeches I have ever heard, and they back their words up with some amazing moves on the dance floor! Our Bride and Groom wanted to do the Dollar Dance, a traditionally Northern practice, and they had so many friends and relatives who wanted to dance with them that Jesse and I had to several amazing songs just to ensure everyone had a chance to dance with the Bride and Groom, I have never a line like this for the Dollar Dance, it was great!

The guests were a nice mix and they were definitely having fun, getting down to everything from 90's hip-hop, to classic rock! John's Dad, Jerry busted out his moves like Jagger, to a special request for the Rolling Stones' hit "Start Me Up", everyone was loving it!
