Recipe For weight loss-
1) Sattu Drink that you can use as a meal replacement for weight loss:
Ingredients:
2-3 tablespoons of Sattu flour ( check video for details )
1 glass of water or buttermilk (about 200-250 ml)
A pinch of roasted cumin powder
A pinch of black salt
A pinch of asafoetida (hing) - optional
Fresh coriander leaves or mint leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Take 2-3 tablespoons of Sattu flour in a mixing bowl.
Add a pinch of roasted cumin powder for flavor. Roasted cumin powder adds a nice earthy taste to the drink.
Add a pinch of black salt for a bit of seasoning. Black salt has a distinct taste that complements the Sattu.
If you like, you can also add a pinch of asafoetida (hing) for extra flavor. Asafoetida is optional, but it can enhance the taste.
Gradually add one glass of water or buttermilk (about 200-250 ml) to the bowl. Stir well to ensure there are no lumps and everything is mixed thoroughly. Garnish the drink with fresh coriander leaves or mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
Simple recipe for Sattu Roti -
Ingredients:
1 cup Sattu flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour (atta)
1/2 teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)
1/2 teaspoon salt
Water for kneading
Ghee or oil for cooking
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the Sattu flour, whole wheat flour, ajwain, and salt.
Gradually add water and knead the mixture to form a soft and pliable dough. The amount of water needed may vary, so add it slowly until you achieve the right consistency. The dough should not be too sticky or too dry.
Divide the dough into small, equal-sized portions and roll them into balls.
Take one dough ball and flatten it with your hands to form a small disc.
Roll out the disc into a thin roti or flatbread. You can use a rolling pin and a dusting of whole wheat flour to prevent sticking.
Heat a tava (griddle) or a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Place the rolled roti on the heated griddle and cook for a minute or two until you see small bubbles forming on the surface.
Flip the roti and cook the other side. Apply a little ghee or oil on both sides and cook until the roti is golden brown and well-cooked.
Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.
Serve the Sattu Roti hot with your favorite side dish, such as yogurt, pickle, or a vegetable curry.Sattu Roti is a nutritious and low-calorie option for those looking to lose weight. It's high in protein and fiber, making it a filling and healthy choice for your meals. Enjoy!
For weight gain -
Ingredients:
1 cup Sattu flour
1/2 cup jaggery (gur)
2-3 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
1/4 cup mixed chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
A pinch of salt
Instructions:
Roast Sattu flour in ghee until slightly brown and aromatic. Let it cool.
Roast chopped nuts in ghee until golden.
Melt jaggery into a syrup. Add Sattu, nuts, cardamom, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
Shape the warm mixture into laddoos using greased hands.
Let them cool and store in an airtight container.
