Are you looking for that out back mountain bike experience on some fun old-school trail? Check out this video of Rock Lake.
Rock Lake is located just 35 miles east of Cable, Wisconsin on Hwy M and is an I.M.B.A Ride Center with miles of Singletrack waiting to be ridden.
There is ample parking at the trailhead, there is a $5 parking fee per vehicle, the fee goes toward the care of the trail.
The route we did netted us about 12.5 miles but there are many more miles of trails out there. Almost everything we rode was a black diamond and although a little rough it was all rideable pretty much. Be prepared for lots of rock gardens and roots, it reminded me a little bit of some of the sections I have ridden on the Ouachita Trail.
Technically this trail will test your handling skills going over and around rocks. Physically there is not much climbing out there just some short punchy climbs. The corridors are pretty wide and the tread is mostly loose rock and looked like it would hold well after a rain. Signage on this trail system was really good. Be sure to check Wall Street a rocky descent down a steep hill.
If you are looking for smooth flowy trails then this one may not be for you. If you are looking for an outback experience and an old school feel then you might enjoy this trail.
This trail would be a good ride for an advanced beginner and up.
