Recorded by Planxty as "The Frost Is All Over", this is the eponymous tune from Mick O'Brien and Caoimhin Ó Raghallaigh's first album together. They pair it with Munster Buttermilk which is an interesting and quite daring combination since both tunes are pretty much from the same family of jigs. That set has since become a particular favourite of a whistle-player friend of mine and myself. We tend to take it very easy on this set and it can provide a moment of relative peace and calm in an otherwise hectic session! Notated, tabbed for mandolin and played on his G&O #34 by Aidan Crossey.
