If you're like me and can't help but think there's a strong possibility of a severe economic downturn on the horizon, get yourself ready. What is the one thing humans need most to survive? Water. Well, air first but water is a close second.

On my first trip to Central America I learned that as Americans we don't understand just how fragile our infrastructure is. What will you do if on day, without warning, you get notice from your utility that the water in the tap is no longer safe to drink (potable)? It happens. You don't have to leave America to find out, look at Flint, Michigan ([ Ссылка ]). Now, I make no claim that a Berkey water filter would solve this type of problem. But I use this as an example of how American infrastructure is not the infallible protector we assume it is.

The Big comes with a pair of filters (filter 6,000 gal/pair) and a spigot. So if you get an extra pair of filter elements system should filter 12,000+ gallons of drinking water. That's plenty for two people for a few years. I like the way the system nests into itself for storage. I was able to get the system, 2 extra filters and spigot all stored within itself.

You may see this channel begin to focus on prepping for a depression. Maybe that's a hint. And btw, you can't just buy your way into being ready. You have to be physically and mentally prepared for what could come.
