Glamorous is rarely used to depict minor-league baseball life — but what the River Bandits have endured since Opening Day is unfathomable: At the mercy of Davenport’s relentless flood waters, the Houston Astros' Class-A affiliate has played just three times at Modern Woodmen Park through the season's first 31 games.
The latest in a lengthy list of temporary homes is University of Iowa’s turf field, where the River Bandits hosted the Lansing Lugnuts Monday through Wednesday. Quad Cities has also found shelter in various Midwest League parks: Burlington, Cedar Rapids, Clinton and Peoria.
