A virtual treadmill running video from within the Rome Marathon 2023. The route is extraordinarily planned; starting from the Colosseum and covering many tourist hotspots along the way before looping back to finish again at the Colosseum.
If you want to participate in the race, it would be advisable to stay near the colosseum, because the entry to the race start area is behind it, and the metro closes down for the race at 5:30 AM.
For your reference the video was shot while running at a pace of around 4:50-4:55 min/km.
The crowd support was fantastic and the bands along the race were unparalleled. I had a lovely time running this race, navigating the Roman cobblestone streets along historic monuments.
