At the end of the day it simply wasn’t to be. FC Bayern fell 3-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Cup final in Berlin, but Karl-Heinz Rummenigge spoke for everyone at the club afterwards when he thanked Jupp Heynckes for his extraordinary efforts over the last few months and wished the 73-year-old all the very best for a long and happy retirement.
