I decided to conduct an experiment with my friend Matvey Gubko. His 1963 Stratocaster Customshop required tuning of the sound characteristics of the pickups. This guitar is fitted with a Fender Customshop Texas Special pickup set. These pickups are slightly overwound and have a pronounced fat midrange that makes the frequency spectrum narrow. We will fix this now. We decided to unwind some wire from each single coil. You will see the result of the experiment at the end of this video in this video.
