Marbling can turn any custom build into a true masterpiece, and we’re sharing all the best tips and tricks you need to make it happen. From using colorful magic marble, to applying fun patterns with pigments and epoxy, watch this easy to follow tutorial to make your next rod an original work of art.
Follow these simple step-by-step instructions:
STEP ONE
Prime Your Components
- Use white spray paint to prime your components
- Note: Use tape to protect reel seat threads from paint
STEP TWO
Get Container and Water
- Grab a deep, clear container with
a wide opening and fill with water
STEP THREE
Choose Your Colors
- Choose your preferred colors of magic marble
and give them a good shake
STEP FOUR
Add Your Colors
- Starting with the darkest color, add 2-3 drops on the
surface of the water and slowly swirl with a mixing stick
STEP FIVE
Dip Your Components
- Using your dipping stick, slowly dip & rotate
your reel seat into the magic marble mixture
STEP SIX
Clear Away Excess
- Leaving the reel seat submerged, remove the excess
color from the surface of the water with a paper towel
STEP SEVEN
Set Aside To Dry
- Set your magic marbled components
aside to dry for a few hours
STEP EIGHT
Try Other Components
- Try Magic Marbling other components, like cork
grips or shrink wrap, using the same process
