#UPDATE (news & info): A #Pontiac man has been charged after allegedly fleeing from police and crashing into another car, resulting in the death of a woman.
On Saturday, June 29, 2024, at around 2:00 am, #Warren officers attempted a traffic stop on three Dodge Chargers driving at a high rate of speed on 8 Mile Road. One of the Dodge Chargers pulled over, but the other two fled, leading officers on a high-speed chase.
During the chase, one of the fleeing Chargers, driven by James Lamar Hudson Jr., crashed into a Jeep Cherokee. The collision killed the passenger, 42-year-old Katrina Michael, and seriously injured the driver. Hudson and his two passengers in the Dodge Charger were also seriously injured in the crash. The third Dodge Charger fled the scene.
James Lamar Hudson Jr., 26, was charged and arraigned with Second Degree Murder, a life felony; Fleeing a Police Officer in the First Degree, a 15-year felony; three counts of Fleeing a Police Officer in the Second Degree, each a 10-year felony; and three counts of Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment of Body Function, each a 5-year felony.
His bond at $1 million cash/surety only.
