The one arm pull up/one arm chin up is one of those moves that seems impossible at first. But despite its popularity and the label of ultimate feat of relative strength, lots of things about it remain unclear. Over my 8 to 9 years in calisthenics/bodyweight training I developed a burning desire to uncover the truth behind this skill. The inconsistency I observed within technique, rate of progression and methods being used amongst individuals inspired me to finally take a closer look at it. I spent last couple of months studying and investigating different aspects of the one arm pull up, I’ve been reading, testing things out and having conversations with experienced coaches and athletes. I collected my ideas and created this video for anyone who used to work, currently works or plan to chase one arm pull up in the future. This video is not a tutorial, I will not give you the ready program for getting this skill or tell you how much time it’s gonna take. However, what I will do is try to find out the answer to one bothering question. Why does one arm pullup come so hard to some people, while much easier to the others?
