In Turkey, the opposition is celebrating a landslide win in the mayoral vote re-run. Opposition politician Ekrem Imamoglu is said to have won more than 54 percent of votes over Binali Yildirim of the ruling AK Party. Mr Imamoglu was stripped of his first victory in March after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed irregularities in the counting. But analysts say that decision appears to have made Mr Imamoglu even more popular. President Erdogan has conceded defeat on Twitter, and has congratulated the newly-elected mayor.
