During the Second World War, much of Europe would be occupied by the Nazis and the Third Reich would have a huge amount of power. One country which was taken by the German Army was Holland/The Netherlands. The people initially tried to resist the Wehrmacht however the country quickly fell into the hands of Adolf Hitler.

The Dutch people would suffer at the hands of the Nazis, and as World War 2 continued on the Dutch would suffer much more. By 1944 and early 1945, the Dutch were starving, huge problems regarding food in the country would mean that many of the civilians would fall into starvation and many would die.

One solution to help relieve the problems was that the Allies formed an agreement with the Germans to airdrop supplies and food into the Netherlands in order to bring food to the starving people. This is the story of Operation Manna and Chowhound, Saving The Nazi Occupied Dutch From Starvation.
