Misinformation aided and abetted by social media is a growing problem that is harming public health and putting lives of millions of people at risk. The First Check team of Health Analytics Asia is leading an initiative to identify and combat medical misinformation, hoaxes, unscientific medical advice and dubious claims.
This video series is aimed to improve the quality of health and science reporting through video stories by debunking unscientific myths, medical misinformation and or fake/doctored videos or images related to public health. This initiative is awarded by a grant from International Fact Checking Initiative (IFCN) with support from YouTube.
Our approach to build collaboration with doctors is globally recognised as a unique initiative and more recently, we’ve been selected by New York University for the Membership PuzzleProject, a global public research project studying how to optimise news for trust in the 21st century.
