Honey Wheat Bread Recipe
6 cups Hard White Winter Wheat flour
2 tsp salt
2 cups warm water
2 TBSP instant yeast
⅓ cup oil
½ cup honey
1 egg
Directions:
Combine 3 cups wheat flour with 2 tsp salt into your mixing bowl and mix. Pour 2 cups warm water into flour mixture and sprinkle the 2 TBSP instant yeast on top. The yeast will start to activate and foam a little. Turn on the mixer and mix until all the flour is moistened. In a glass measuring cup, combine the oil and honey. Microwave oil and honey for 30 seconds until warm but not hot. Pour into mixture and add the egg. Mix until combined, then add in the remaining 3 cups of flour. Continue mixing until the the dough pulls away from the edges and then for an additional 3-5 minutes.
Remove dough from mixer and form into a ball. Place inside an oiled bowl and cover. Let rise until doubled (approximately 1 hour). Then punch down and divide into 2 loaves and place in 2 greased loaf pans to rise again, covered (approximately 1 hour). Bake for 30 minutes. Butter loaf tops when hot, right out of the oven. Cool before slicing. Enjoy!
Makes Two (1½ pound) loaves
*Note*
One #10 can of wheat = 12 cups of wheat
12 cups of wheat = 18 cups of flour
18 cups of flour = 6 loaves of bread
