Back is by far one of the easiest muscles to grow but so many people butcher most exercises. For example, the V-bar row is an amazing lat exercise IF you do them correctly. Most people don't allow their lats to stretch enough to load them correctly or if they do they end up transferring the tension to their traps. Even lat pull-downs can be screwed up if you don't keep your scaps depressed, the moment they start to elevate the load shifts into your upper traps. The moral of the story is to depress your scaps and always be thinking about protracting and retracting.
