The Rise and Fall of TJ Dillashaw.
TJ Dillashaw is one of the most spectacular talents mixed martial arts has ever seen.
From his UFC Debut in late 2011, he would rise up the bantamweight rankings for 2 years before getting a late replacement title shot against champion Renan Barao.
He was a massive underdog against a dominant fighter but showed what he was made of and was able to finish Renan Barao in round 4 to become the bantamweight world champion.
TJ would defend title twice against Joe Soto and Renan Barao, before running into former champion Dominick Cruz, where TJ would lose a split decision.
But after 2 wins, TJ would challenge for the title again at ufc 217 against former teammate and new champion Cody Garbrandt, where he would finish his old friend and regain the title.
But he would put a stamp on it in the rematch with another finish against garbrandt at UFC 227.
3 title defenses, and the best in the world means it’s all downhill from here.
While pursuing a second belt, TJ would get finished at 125 pounds by Henry Cejudo, then pop for PEDs, and voluntarily relinquish his batamweight title.
Now TJ was a disgraced former champion and cheater, who after popping, would earn a split decision victory over sandhagen, and get finished by Aljo after dislocating his shoulder in the fight.
We don’t know if he can reach those heights again, which makes this
