The key to unlocking stairs ✨
It’s important to understand that stairs can be difficult for a multitude of reasons.
But the primary reasons going up stairs can be difficult:
1. Mobility (knee, hip, ankle, trunk)
2. Lower body strength
3. Balance, especially on one leg
Chair squats can tell you a lot about your strength. You essentially have to lift your bodyweight up to get out of the chair. This is a great place to start ✅
Now, of course, stairs you have to lift your bodyweight up with one leg. So this is the next progression. Don’t start here though, especially if you have high levels of pain ☝🏽
It is possible to master the stairs, you just need the right path to get you there! 🙌🏼
