My relationship with Whitney has been the most profound teacher in my life. It’s been the most difficult and most beautiful ceremony I could ever conceive. And it’s still going strong after 8 years! Yes we broke up. We called off our engagement. There was a lot of pain. There was a lot of heartache. But the lessons were generous and bountiful as well. We have learned so much about ourselves, about love, about honesty, and about trusting our adventure together, no matter what happens. From where we stand now I can’t say that we have it all figured out, but I do know this: Trust your partners love, honor your truth, love generously, and receive love graciously.
Some of the specific topics that we talked about today include dealing with lust in moments where you feel like it shouldn’t be present, having a general mindfulness and wellness for your relationship, and always checking up on your relationship goals or couple goals. Furthermore, Whitney gives tips on how to deal with people that might be questioning your open relationship on social media, by responding to them with curiosity as opposed to toxicity. Finally, we also discuss a moment right after a breakup of ours where we took mushrooms or psilocybin and had an amazing moment of healing.
