Short, medium and long-term corruption trends for Uzbekistan and other eastern European/Central Asian countries are presented in this video using scores published by Transparency International in their Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2023 report.
The video reviews Uzbekistan’s performance in addressing corruption in the periods 2012-2023, 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.
Uzbekistan’s CPI score recorded an overall very significant improvement in 2012-2023. The country’s CPI score steadily improved throughout 2012-2023.
The rate of change in the country’s CPI score substantially exceeded the rate of change in average Eastern European/Central Asian and global CPI scores in 2012-2023 and 2018-2023; a lower margin of outperformance was achieved in 2022-2023.
Uzbekistan’s CPI score was lower than average Eastern European/Central Asian and global CPI scores continuously throughout 2012-2023 but the margin of underperformance has steadily reduced, particularly in the last five years. #corruption #uzbekistan #easterneurope
