Video Transcript:
Video begins and shows a shot of a busy road at night with cars travelling in both directions.
Text on screen:
Ottawa Public Health’s bilingual logo is on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Imagine you are driving along this road at night…..
Video description: There are no street lights; the glare from the oncoming headlights is reflecting off the wet pavement. At a distance directly in front of the camera is movement but it is difficult to make out what objects are walking towards the camera.
Text on screen: How many pedestrians do you see?
Video description: As the objects get closer, the shadowed outline of two people wearing white reflective bands is seen. As they continue to approach the camera their outlines get bigger and clearer. Suddenly at the last second the shadowy outlines of two more people walking can be seen. The two additional people are not wearing reflective bands. It becomes clear that there are four people walking towards the camera, two people wearing reflective bands and two people not wearing reflective bands.
Text on screen: How many now?
Text on screen: Static slide with a tagline: Be Safe Be Seen. Sois visible pour ta sécurité. Below the tagline are four cartoon pictures of people side by side: a person riding a bike with a helmet and a headlight, a person running with reflective clothing, a person in a wheelchair with reflectors and a girl walking a dog with both her and the dog wearing reflectors. Below the cartoons are three logos: The City of Ottawa, Ottawa Public Health and Safer Roads Ottawa.
Last slide on screen is the York Region logo and message saying “Special Thanks to York Region.”
