In this video I am going to start up Gary's Willys L 134 engine that is going in his Willys M38 Jeep.
Regular viewers of my channel will remember this engine when it came into the shop, it was a mess. I got everything rebuilt properly and sent it back to Gary in South Dakota. After Fed Ex Freight Damaged the engine by putting a forklift fork thru the carburetor everything was fixed and Gary attempted to start the engine. After a few failed attempts the engine would not start. Gary decided to do a compression test because he thought the engine internals were bad. After a bad compression test he decided to send the engine back to me. Here you will see the cold engine compression test and the cold start of this engine. The trouble was the M38 YS carburetor that another company put together. I am sending his YS out to be rebuilt and will be back soon to show that carburetor on the engine and everything running as it should.
This Willys L 134 started as all my engines do......... easily. Oil pressure at 45 psi, water temp solid at 180, no leaks, no troubles, perfect running Willys engine. Started it on Solex carb and it is running perfectly. More to come when the YS comes back.
