Essaouira Morocco - After the craziness of Marrakech we were looking forward to our next stop... Essaouira Morocco! We're spending a month in Morocco's Windy City and here's our first glimpse of Essaouira. We walk the picturesque city walls, stroll through the Essaouira medina, get our first impressions of the beach and have a delicious snack of avocado juice.
Essaouira is a very welcome change of pace. The quieter, calmer town on Morocco's windy Atlantic coast is know to be a draw for surfers, kite surfers and hippies (Jimi Hendrix apparently loved it here.) A wonderful place to enjoy the colourful Moroccan medinas without the hustle and bustle of the larger cities. We can see why many people choose to retire here or stay for a while.
