Coach Bill Renner uses four drills to teach and coach quarterback throwing mechanics. This is Drill 1 - Hips, Throw. Coach Renner provides detailed information on how to coach the techniques of proper throwing mechanics in this drill video. The quarterback starts with his shoulders and hips facing the receiver. When he is ready, he will coil his upper body backward and then uncoil his body forward and throw the ball to a receiver. Do 1 set of 10 throws with a receiver 10 yards away. Then move the receiver back to 15 yards and do a second set of 10 throws. Aim for the receiver’s chest on every throw and make being accurate a priority. Do the four throwing mechanics drills with the ball every other day.
