Sang Lee was renown in the billiard world as the greatest one & two rail-first "kicker" of all time. This short clip showcases a classic Sang Lee play which occurred near the end of the Final Match against many-time World Champion Torbjorn Blomdahl...
Blomdahl is averaging nearly 2.000 points per inning (what else is new). Sang Lee trails the match 35-45 in 23 innings (race to 50) and is faced with Blomdahl's tough defensive leave.
Most players would not even consider this type of shot, especially under tournament pressure, but Sang Lee, unfazed, attacks with this powerful "umbrella shot" ( rail-rail-ball-rail-ball at 1:25 ) - as if it were a natural, breaks Blomdahl's safety, and proceeds to mount a comeback.
This great showdown, which was captured by Jan Carl in Miami, FL in 1998, is a nail-biter from start to finish. The video for the complete game, and many others is available at CaromTV.com (CC983-01).
