On January 13, 2022, the United States Supreme Court upheld as legal the CMS Vaccine Mandate, which required certain healthcare entities to mandate the COVID vaccine for their employees (including doctors, registered nurses (RN), licensed practical nurses (LPN), nurse practitioners, and physician assistants), among most other staff. Because of this Supreme Court Covid vaccine ruling, the dates required for implementation have changed for most states in the country. However, the original implementation dates remain the same for the other half. This mandate is limited to certain healthcare entity types / facility types, which we discuss in this video. We also discuss the religious and disability accommodations that employees can request to avoid getting the covid vaccine. Join us for this episode as we discuss the Supreme Court’s Decision, including the OSHA ETS decision (which also previously applied to healthcare providers), what this means for employers now, and we answer many of the other questions being asked about the covid / c19 / covid-19 vaccine mandate by CMS / HHS. Answers to these questions and many more are presented in this episode of Employment Law After Hours.
