Insertion of an artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) at the bladder neck in a man with spinal cord injury. Almost all AUSs are placed around the urethra, not the bladder neck. Bladder neck placement is ideal in people with neurogenic bladder due to conditions like spina bifida or spinal cord injury. Because the bladder neck is in the abdomen, a robotic approach can decrease morbidity.
