An iceberg roughly the size of Greater London broke off of the Brunt Ice Shelf near an Antarctic research station on Monday. The iceberg, measuring 598 square miles, caused a major crack referred to as "Chasm-1," which the British Antarctic Survey says was detected a decade ago.
