New South Wales pubs and clubs will be allowed to open from tomorrow after the state government reconsidered excluding them from easing restrictions.
In an apparent backflip, Ms Berejiklian yesterday said "it's unlikely" rules would be revised but admitted she "didn't want to pre-empt" anything as the state government met with industry leaders to discuss each sector's capabilities and path towards reopening.
Facilities will be permitted to open their doors to customers if they are a venue that serves food and must restrict sit-down patron numbers to 10.
"We're working with any organisation or peak body that wants to come to us and talk about how they envision their path back," the premier said.
Bars and gaming facilities were not included in the revision and would not be opening at this time.
It is estimated pubs operators lost an average of $35,000 a month since the lockdown began.
