When you are looking an exciting snack option for your kids, make this lip-smacking Vegetable Hot Dog with kideny beans, veggies and some spices! Drizzle some mustard sauce and ketchup on the top.
VEG HOT DOG
Ingredients
4 hot dog buns
1 tbsp oil + for shallow frying
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped ginger
2 green chillies, chopped
1 medium carrot, chopped
1 medium capsicum, chopped
8-10 French beans, chopped
Salt to taste
½ cup boiled rajma
¼ tsp turmeric powder
2 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled
½ cup dried breadcrumbs
Mustard sauce for drizzling + to serve
Tomato ketchup for drizzling + to serve
Method
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic, ginger, green chillies, and sauté for a few seconds.
2. Add carrot, capsicum, French beans and salt. Mix well. Add rajma and turmeric powder, mix well and cook for 1 minute.
3. Mash the mixture well. Mash the potatoes with hand and add to the pan. Mash again till well combined. Cook for 1-2 minutes and take it off the heat.
4. Transfer the mixture into a bowl and add breadcrumbs, mix well.
5. Grease palms with oil and divide the prepared mixture into equal portions and shape each into cylinders. Set aside.
6. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan, place the prepared cylinder on it and shallow fry till golden brown and crisp. Take them off the heat.
7. Lengthwise cut the hot dog buns in the centre without cutting through. Apply mayonnaise and spread it evenly. Place the prepared hot dog in it and drizzle mustard sauce and tomato ketchup.
8. Serve with mustard sauce and tomato ketchup.
