The Daily Telegraph’s Jonathon Moran says Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson contracting the coronavirus really “puts a human face to what’s going on”.
Tom Hanks fans have been warned they may have been exposed to the coronavirus after the pair tested positive to the infection.
The entertainment industry is scrambling to contain any possible spread after his wife Rita Wilson - who also tested positive - visited Channel Nine's studio in Sydney for an interview.
Mr Moran told Sky News people need to remain “sane” and if people have “walked past Tom Hanks on the street… then it’s very unlikely you will have caught it from him or his wife”.
“But if you spent an extended period of time, if you were backstage for example when she was performing at the Opera House, Rita Wilson his wife, then maybe you probably do need to be tested,” he said.
“So let’s be sensible, let’s be smart about this and not be crazy.”
