Peters is still getting over his crash at the 2022 St. Louis Supercross, an incident that resulted in broken C5 and C6 vertebrae with sensations of numbness and tingling in his arms. An emergency surgery, which inserted rods and pins from C4 to C7 and took the pressure off the spinal cord, was the first step to a seven-month recovery marked by intense therapy, a gradual reintroduction to the motorcycle, and the first gate drop of the fourteen-round season.
