President Joe Biden's approval ratings when it comes to handling America's COVID-19 response is plummeting amid a surge in cases and deaths due to the ultra contagious Delta strain.

The president has enjoyed relatively good numbers when it comes to the public's approval over how he is handling the pandemic

However, a new ABC/Ipsos poll has found 63 per cent of Americans approve of the president's handling of the pandemic, down nine per cent from the same survey in March.

The findings come as America recorded at least 51,939 cases on July 25th, 2021.

That represents an 170 per cent increase from two weeks ago as the virus rips through largely unvaccinated parts of the United States.
