Can’t figure out why your lower core won’t come back online? Leaking after kids? Struggling with prolapse?
👉🏼 One reason could be too much gripping in your upper abs (think “pull your ribs down” but done too much…). Over-gripping can cause pressure to push down on your lower abs and pelvic floor.
NOW. This one shift is not going to fix all of your problems. We don’t play that game.
BUT. If you tend to grip your upper abs all day every day, you could be sitting / standing / walking with pressure down on your core and pelvic floor all day, and it could be a piece of the puzzle!
⚡️Try this: Lift your ribs slightly so they are in line with your pelvis. It might feel like you’re over lifting, but looking at your posture in a mirror is a great way to judge what’s *just right* for your alignment.
⚡️Go back and forth between ribs ‘gripped’ and ‘lifted’ and see if you can feel a difference in your lower body pressure. Explore!!
