Recent polling data shows two-thirds of Democrats want somebody other than Joe Biden to run for president, says former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney.
His comments come as the US President’s approval rating continues to plunge.
“There’s been some very high-profile Democrats who have gone public in this country calling for Joe Biden not to run for re-election,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News Australia.
“That sort of, that narrative … four or five months ago ... it was in the backrooms and it was, now it’s out in the open.
“So Joe Biden might survive this – politics is a strange business but for the first time the Democrats are openly talking about other options for the Democrat nomination for president.”
