Starting for the Outlaws on this Sunday afternoon was 18-year Japanese knuckleballer Eri Yoshida.
Despite being staked to an 11-run lead in the top-of-the-first inning, Yoshida did not make it out of the second inning. Nonetheless, she showed enough that day to prove to any doubters that she possesses a nasty knuckleball.
The manager of the Chico Outlaws is former major leaguer Gary Templeton.
The Outlaws hung on for a 16-13 victory over the Vipers. The game took four hours and ten minutes to complete. 1,759 were in attendence.
Yoshida was credited with one at-bat, and one rbi.
