Welcome to today's Yoga 101 Tutorial: Chaturanga Dandasana! In today's lesson I'll walk you through all the steps to do this challenging yoga pose safely and properly. You're going to do Chaturanga A LOT in vinyasa flow classes and my goal is that you practice smart yoga so that your upper body is strong and supports this pose in a way that keeps you in proper alignment.
This pose takes a whole lot of upper body strength, so we're going to do some drills that emphasize yoga for CORE and upper body strength. When all those components are working together you'll have a beautifully open, powerful body to support your vinyasa flow practice.
Like I said, my main goal with Flow with Lisa is to bring you quality online yoga in 2020 and beyond so that all of us (regardless of experience level) have a safe place to practice Vinyasa yoga at home in 2020! So let's get rolling so you can build the upper body strength and learn all the other skills you need to do this pose safely and properly.
