All in all there were 20 competitors from UK, USA, Polen, Estland and Sweden. The competitors were split into two pools of 10 each. Each competitor received a seeding ranking based on the results in the pool bouts which determined their starting position in the elimination tournament that followed. The winner of the tournament was Roland Tepp (Estonia) facing Gavin King (UK) in the finals.
The participants from Sweden were Mattias Nyrell, Kevin Neijd and Alfred Johannesson, representing the clubs Historisk Kinesisk Fäktning Linköping/Stockholm and Wudang/Practical Tai Chi Chuan.
