These days everyone is talking about whether sales is about art or science. While I'm definitely a student and teacher of both, there's another concept that I believe is actually WAY more critical to the success of modern sellers: the why.
In this video I discuss a concept I call, Unconscious Selling (yes, I like to make up terms). That is, the use of sales tactics without a fundamental understanding of why they work (or don't).
No doubt that success in sales requires you to command both the science and the art, but today's post explains three reasons why overlooking the why can put you (and our entire profession) on the slow road to failure.
